About Us

Cafresco Organics is located on reclaimed swampland: Kooweerup Victoria, 80 kilometres southeast of Melbourne at the head of Westernport Bay.     

Our History

The farm has been in the family since the 1950’s, Cesare and Salvatrice Cafra first purchased the land after migrating from Italy, at the time farming potatoes, carrots and onions. Maurie Cafra began farming in 1975 and the property became home to Maurie and Maria Cafra and their young family in the early 1990’s. Since then, Maurie and Maria have expanded the farm to accommodate the growing business.

Organic Certification

In 1997, the farm achieved organic certification from the National Association for Sustainable Agriculture Australia Limited (NASAA) and adopted the name Cafresco Organics.

Today Cafresco Organics harvests and sells over 25 organically certified field grown vegetables. Cafresco vegetables can be purchased locally and interstate from our direct wholesale customers and indirectly from customers who source from our wholesalers.
